Introduction
On its 9th anniversary, YTOP Global is not just celebrating years.
It is releasing a voice.
A voice that represents every young person who has ever questioned their path.
A voice that carries purpose, responsibility, and action.
A voice that now has a sound.
This is the official release of the YTOP Global Anthem.
For nine years, YTOP Global has worked at the grassroots.
In schools.
In communities.
In conversations that most people ignore.
We have seen young people struggle with direction.
We have seen talent buried under pressure.
We have seen potential delayed by lack of guidance.
But we have also seen something else.
Young people are ready.
They just need clarity, structure, and belief.
This anthem captures that truth.
Where It Started
The YTOP Global Anthem was written in 2022 by the founder, Ekundayo Oluwadamilare while returning from a program in Lagos to Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Not as a song.
As a reflection.
At that point, the organization had already seen years of fieldwork, engagement, and growth. There was a clear pattern.
Young people did not lack potential.
They lacked alignment.
The anthem was born from that realization.
A message turned into words.
Words turned into rhythm.
Rhythm turned into a movement.
More Than Music. A Declaration
At its core, this anthem is not entertainment.
It is a declaration.
“My location needs me; I’ll rise and stand.”
This line is not poetic.
It is practical.
It shifts responsibility back to the individual.
- Your community needs you
- Your country needs you
- Africa needs you
- The world needs you
This is the mindset YTOP Global has built for nine years.
The Message Behind the Words
The anthem speaks directly to identity and action.
“I will change the world, with love and grace.”
This is not about noise.
It is about impact.
Over the years, YTOP Global has:
- Reached over 70,000 young people
- Executed over 100 programs
- Built systems for leadership and development
- Supported underserved communities including children with special needs
This anthem carries that work forward.
A Soundtrack for a Movement
YTOP Global is not just an organization.
It is a movement of young people choosing responsibility over excuses.
This anthem gives that movement a voice.
A shared identity.
A reminder that:
- You are not waiting for change
- You are the one expected to act
From Lyrics to Life
Every line in this anthem reflects real work.
“United as one, we’ll make our mark.”
This is seen in:
- Community projects
- Youth-led initiatives
- Volunteer networks
- Collaborative programs
“Through challenges faced, we’ll light the dark.”
This is not theory.
It is the reality of building impact with limited resources.
This release is not about marking nine years.
It is about setting direction for what comes next.
YTOP Global is entering a new phase.
- More structured programs
- Deeper community impact
- Expanded youth development systems
- Stronger inclusion efforts
The anthem becomes a tool.
A reminder.
A standard.
If you are a young person reading this, this is direct.
You cannot afford to drift.
You cannot keep waiting for clarity to appear.
You have to act.
Start where you are.
Build what you can.
Contribute where it matters.
This is what YTOP Global stands for.
A Movement You Can Join
For nine years, this work has grown through people who chose to be involved.
Volunteers.
Partners.
Supporters.
This anthem is an invitation.
Not to listen.
But to act.
YTOP Global Anthem (Official Lyrics)
In the heart of youth, a fire ignites,
With dreams and hopes that reach new heights,
YTOP Global, our anthem rings,
A movement that empowerment brings.
My location needs me, I’ll rise and stand,
My country needs me, I’ll lend a hand,
Africa needs me, together we’ll soar,
The world needs me, I’ll open the door.
I will change the world, with love and grace,
Unstoppable, I’ll find my place,
Limitless, I’ll reach for the stars,
A global voice, we’ll break the bars,
I am YTOP, the world’s embrace.
The Work Continues
Nine years ago, it started with a question.
Today, it has a voice.
And that voice is clear.
Young people are not the future.
They are the force needed now.
